Sunday October 2 – Papillion Noon to 4

While this last weekend did not exactly cooperate at Youngman park, we did have kites up, even in the rain!

Come join us this weekend in Papillion, at the community center – where we plan to have several members out flying. There will be candy drops – plan to come early and stay long, as this Sunday looks to be perfect weather to enjoy the day!

See you soon

This Saturday – Flying at Youngman Park – 192nd & Dodge!

While it has been a while since there was a post, we are flying out at the Omaha Parks event, Fly Into Fall at 192nd & Dodge. While it will not only be kites, this is a great family orientated event from 12 -3 PM

We will hopefully have some good pictures from this event, and our upcoming events in Papillion and LaVista the following weekends.

Enjoy the fall, and finally, cooler temperatures.

2016 Flying Schedule updated

While the weather is cold, the scheduling of festivals around the Omaha area and Midwest region is heating up.

Please check out our two new schedule pages for both our Metro area festivals and Regional festivals.

We would love to come fly for your event or organization please see the Scheduling Events page for more details and contact info.

Look for more info to come on some of these events in the future.

Last of the local flies until this fall, Italian StyleWhile we had a pretty decent spring flying season, the rain did not cooperate with us for the LaVista Fly on May 3.

However, another member was lucky enough to go fly in France, and took a few shirts to friends from Italy, and so, Midwest Winds now has an Italian contingent! Its fantastic how small this world actually is, and in the end, we all share the same sky!

Have a great summer, and look for us this early fall to fly i and around the Metro area!

Kite Fly this weekend! 12 – 4 at the LaVista Sports Complex

We are looking forward to another great fly in LaVista this weekend (68th and Harrison, at the LaVista Sports Complex), Great weather at this time is expected, and if it is like last weekend, it will be a great day to be out and flying. Please come out to the festival, as there will be more candy drops and as always, kites in the sky! Come join us to fly your own kite, however, please be mindful of the request of the club to fly in designated areas. Our kites are expensive, and need to stay by themselves, as our lines can easily be cut by smaller line. If you have any questions ask one of our members for more clarification. We encourage the public to interact with us, and if you ask nice, we will take you onto our field to see the kites up close, but our insurance does require that you are escorted by one of the club members.
